Description:

Trypsin(EC3.4.21.4)isaserineproteasefoundinthedigestivesystemofmanyvertebrates,whereithydrolysesproteins.Trypsinisproducedinthepancreasastheinactiveproenzymetrypsinogen.Activetrypsinpredominantlycleavespeptidechainsatthecarboxylsideoftheaminoacidslysineorarginine,exceptwheneitherisfollowedbyproline.Itisusedfornumerousbiotechnologicalprocesses.Intheassay,trypsincleavesasubstratetogeneratep-nitroaniline(p-NA)whichisdetectedatλ=405nm.Sincethecolorintensityisproportionaltop-NAcontent,trypsinactivitycanbeaccuratelymeasured.Thekitdetects10-100mU(p-NAunit)trypsininvarioussamples.
