Description:

Theready-to-usecellproliferationreagent,WST-1providesasimpleandaccuratemethodtomeasurecellproliferation,whichisbasedonthecleavageofthetetrazoliumsaltWST-1toformazanbycellularmitochondrialdehydrogenases.Expansioninthenumberofviablecellsresultsinanincreaseintheactivityofthemitochondrialdehydrogenases,whichinturnleadstoincreaseintheamountofformazandyeformed.Theformazandyeproducedbyviablecellscanbequantifiedbymeasuringtheabsorbanceat440nm.Thisnewmethodisnon-radioactive,rapidandmoresensitivethanMTT,XTT,orMTS-basedassays.Theentireassaycanbeperformedinthesamemicrotiterplateanddoesnotrequireextrastepslikewashing,harvestingandcellsolubilization.
