Description:

5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine(BrdU)isapyrimidineanalog.ItgetsincorporatedintothenewlysynthesizedDNAofproliferatingcellsinplaceofthymidine.BrdUCellProliferationAssayKitdetectsincorporatedBrdUusingamouseanti-BrdUantibody.Ananti-mouseHRP-linkedsecondaryantibodyisusedtodetecttheanti-BrdUantibodyboundtoBrdU,whichisfollowedbyadditionofTMB(aHRPsubstrate).TheextentofcolordevelopmentisproportionaltothequantityofBrdUincorporatedintothecellsandcanbeuseddirectlyasanindicatorofcellproliferation.Comparedtoothercellproliferationassays,thiskitdetectsonlytheproliferatingcellsandnottheseededcells.Thishighlysensitive,non-radioactivekitdetectsaslessas50-100proliferatingcells.
