Description:

TheQuickCellProliferationAssayKitIIprovidesbyfartheeasiestandmostsensitivemeansforquantifyingcellproliferationandviABIlity.Theassayisbasedonthecleavageofthetetrazoliumsalttoformazanbycellularmitochondrialdehydrogenase.Theamountofthedyegeneratedbyactivityofdehydrogenaseisdirectlyproportionaltothenumberoflivingcells.Theformazandyeproducedbyviablecellscanbequantifiedbymulti-wellspectrophotometer(microtiterplatereader)bymeasuringtheabsorbanceofthedyesolutionat440nm.Theassaycanbeusedformeasurementofcellproliferationinresponsetogrowthfactors,cytokines,mitogens,andnutrients,etc.Itcanalsobeusedfortheanalysisofcytotoxiccompoundslikeanticancerdrugsandmanyothertoxicagentsandpharmaceuticalcompounds.Thenewmethodissosimple,justadd-and-read,requiringnowashing,noharvesting,andnosolubilizationsteps.Itisfaster,stable,andmoresensitivethanMTT,XTT,MTSbasedassays.Theassaycorrelateswellwiththe[3H]-thymidineincorporationassay.
