Description:

Uricacidinserumistheendproductofpurinemetabolism,andisclearedthroughthekidneybyglomerularfiltration.However,humanoftenlacksthenecessaryenzymecalledurateoxidase(Uricase),andthereforeabnormaluricacidmaybeaccumulatedinblood.Recentevidencesshowthecloseassociationbetweenserumuratelevelandcardiovascularmorbidityandmortality,especiallyamongpersonsathighcardiovascularrisk,includingthosewithhypertension,diabetesandcongestionheartfailure.TheUricAcidAssayKitprovidesaconvenientmeansfordetectinguricacidinbiologicalsamplessuchasserumandurine.Pretreatmentofsamplesarenotrequired.Uricacidlevelcanbemeasuredusingfluorometric(atEx/Em=535/587nm)orcolorimetric(atλ=570nm)methods.
